Blue
What is colour beyond what we see?
I'm spending a season immersed in blue, exploring its psychology, philosophy, history, cultural significance and emotional worlds to explore the full spectrum of what colour means.
Blue Gold
Blue Gold is my act of fierce reclamation, born from what refused to break. While forged in the sudden collapse of a relationship built on harm, this work does not belong to the damage. It is an engine of personal agency, created to shine light into what was operating in the shadows, and take back what is real.

Carl Jung read the symbolism of alchemy, the ancient attempt to turn base lead into gold, as a map for turning human trauma into psychological wholeness. I take the heaviest, most toxic parts of my experience, the raw lead of betrayal, subject them to intense pressure, and refine them until something unbreakably beautiful remains. Each piece documents that exact alchemical arc:
The Lead: The heavy, unrefined weight of betrayal and loss.
The Fire: Sitting in the heat, naming what happened without flinching, and burning away fictional reality.
The Gold: The incorruptible result. Each work extracts a truth that survived the fire, building step by step into my whole, undivided self, what Jung called individuation.
When invited to create an exhibition centred on blue, my immediate instinct was resistance. To me, the colour seemed docile and ordinary. I refused to see it merely as a pigment and instead interrogated its history and conceptual roots. Blue is not a passive colour; it rejects the rules the rest of the spectrum obeys.
The colour is mixed optically, completed only in the space between the light, the resin, and your eye. Layered semi-transparent pigmented resin rests above a reflective surface, holding your image inside the depth as light returns off your body. You do not stand before these pieces as a stranger looking in; your presence completes the field.
You are not the lead that entered the furnace. You are the gold that remains.
